I have lived my entire life in the south, between Tennessee, Mississippi, Arkansas, and Georgia. I am the eldest of four siblings, and currently live with my husband and two cats in Columbus, GA. I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with two degrees from Harding University.
My work experience covers a full spectrum of mental health services, including in-home, day treatment, group home, outpatient, and residential settings.
The majority of my therapy work has been with children and adolescents and their families. I have 25+ years of public speaking and training experience!
Through 2 1/2 decades of therapy work and public speaking, I have discovered a true joy in educating others about mental health, self-care, and being the best humans we can be. I believe that the path to understanding and acceptance is through knowledge, humor and building relationships. Learning to care for ourselves and others throughout our daily lives and especially in times of hardship makes it possible to embrace life's joys and show compassion for those around us.
There is nothing I enjoy more than connecting with people, whether that's in a classroom, a lecture hall, or the grocery store! I love travel, especially to other countries, meeting people and learning about cultures-if there is a cruise involved, that's another bonus! I love reading, animals, and playing games with friends and family. I am known to "never meet a stranger!"
